Responsible for planning and coordinating events, including planning menus and beverages, booking entertainers, coordinating decorations, ordering flowers, working with client budgets, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.  Responsibilities include coordinating details of small events such as conferences, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, charity events, surprise parties, trade shows, business meetings, calculating budgets and ensure they are adhered to, create Banquet Event Orders, Book vendors, including musicians, artisans, and photographers, select food and beverage for events, plan layout of seating, stations, and decorations, schedule speakers, vendors, and participants, coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met, prepare estimates and presentations, and assist in the Administrative Duties of the Department.  The ideal candidate must have:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Meetings & Special Events
  • Luxury hotel experience, working with external clients and third party vendors
  • Strong skills in Communication, Problem-solving, Customer Relations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in using computers
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as needed
  • Ability to work with a diverse team and multiple cultures

Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print). Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects). Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps. Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
