Reports to the General Manager and manages security operations on a daily basis. Areas of responsibilities include the protection and safety of property assets, employees, guests and buildings, accident and fire prevention and response. Ensures the continuous safety of guests, employees and hotel assets at all times. Maintains logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitors and reviews emergency procedures on a regular basis and amends as needed
Proactively advises General Manager and Executive Committee on possible risks
Builds appropriate professional, friendly and accessible relationships with employees and other line managers
Conducts investigation of all losses of property assets and refers to proper management for disposition
Deploys security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets
Complies with all Corporate Safety & Security management guidelines and procedures
Completes proper documentation and reports all employee accidents and general liability incidents to Claims Reporting Service
Assist Director of Finance and General Manager in handling claims that occur as a result of incidents
Recognizes success across areas of responsibility
Handles guest problems and complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts
Drives and monitors corporate Health, Safety & Welfare procedures and guidelines
Identifies and makes recommendations for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices
Implements action plans to monitor and control risk
Keeps abreast of local criminal activity as it may impact property
Maintains required reports and documentation regarding patrols of property Ensures all safety and security equipment is up-to-date and functions properly
Conducts bi-yearly employee performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures
Identifies the learning and development needs of subordinates and develops training programs accordingly
Completes disciplinary procedures and documentation according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process
Maintains first aid, CPR and other safety related certifications for all relevant staff within the hotel in compliance with Emergency and Crisis plans.
Implements local authority requirement for security and safety
Manages third party contractors for Security operations in addition to the in-house team
Maintain relationships with Local authorities including but not limited to police, municipality and fire brigades
Ensures maintenance and certification of all FLS related equipment
Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations
Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
Meets quality standards and customer expectations on a daily basis by providing services that are above and beyond
MBO / HBO thinking Level
2-3 years of experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area
In possession of BHV, AED certificates
Beheerder Brandmeld installatie is a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adaco is a plus
Experience with administrative tasks
Fluent in English and preferably Dutch
Experience in 5* hotel is a preference
