This role oversees the responsibility for the development of new business in the corporate and MICE market segments in Australia and New Zealand
To build new accounts into managed accounts within the specific market segments, to drive revenue over and above the budgeted revenues.
To ensure budgets are achieved within each market segment responsible for and achieve individual goals.
Responsible for managing the Entertainment market segment and ensure successful growth of this segment.
Education and Experience
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 3 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
- 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1 year experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Conducting Marketing Activities to Achieve Departmental Goals
Develops marketing tools in conjunction with the marketing team, such as corporate & MICE brochures/flyers, presentations and EDMs.
Monitoring of Goals and Balanced Scorecard
Development of packages and seasonal promotions (under the guidance of the ADOS, DOS, DOM & DOR)
Communicate all new promotion, press releases to accounts
Use of CI/TY (housekeeping, database and activity management)
Ensure there is an effective PDP in place
Ensure understanding of all sales departmental LSOP’s
Strives to meet measurable targets and goals, as assigned for individual and team.
Performs duties in any related Sales and Marketing area/ department as required by management
Be actively involved in the Sales & Marketing Department in order to maximize sales
Ensure compliance with Marriott International, minimum standards pertaining to Sales & Marketing.
Building and Maintaining Relationships
Develops and negotiates partnerships in association with all POSH event spaces and rooms. Ensuring that all Funnell and Sales Strat commentaries and actions are acted on immediately and results fed back to reactive sales buddy prior to the next meeting
Work closely with the Gantry & Bar BDM, to liaise with them for VIP groups and buyouts
Communication of property updates and news to GSO
Communication of market and business trends
Monthly Executive Summary Commentary (BD only)
Perform any reasonable task as requested by management.
Identifies new or existing markets/accounts that meet property sales strategy.
Develops a sales plan to generate business from identified markets/accounts.
Negotiates transient rates for new corporate accounts always discussing with ADOS
Prospects new business through phone solicitation, outside sales calls, customer visits to the hotel, trade shows, sales blitzes, direct mail, newspaper/journal research and other customer interaction or research.
Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue
Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals.
Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
Closes the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs.
Gains understanding of the location's primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
Supports the company's service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
Services our customers in order to grow share of the account.
Executes and supports the company's customer service standards.
Provides excellent customer service consistent with the daily service basics of the company.
Sets a positive example for guest relations.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
