Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

  • To ensure that the mis-en-place is correct to enhance the service timings

  • To suggest means and ways of reducing costs without affecting the quality and standards of the Hotel

  • To minimize operating costs by using all equipment and products in accordance with guidelines set and ensure all equipment are turned off at the end of each shift

  • To assist with monitoring and reordering any stores items, minimizing where possible to avoid over expenditure

  • To assist the cost controller in completing the stock inventory

  • Ensure that the bar area is clean, orderly and well maintained, trolleys are well stocked, and side stations in order, chairs, tables are in place

  • To check back with the clients any comments should be forwarded to the Bar Manager

  • To attend departmental communication meetings, trainings sessions and to ensure that all staff operates in line with the instructions received

  • To report any maintenance defects to the engineering department and follow-up

  • To conduct a briefing and to pass all the information needed to the staff, assign stations, explain the menu, any special requirements.


To move into this position you should have

  • Tenure in current position minimum one year

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the relevant area of a 5* Property

  • Must have completed the supervisory skills training and train the trainer courses

  • An outstanding beverage knowledge,
  • Formal training on wine, cigars, teas, up-selling techniques, silver service, cocktails and any other related courses

  • Thorough knowledge of Food & Beverage (Cocktails / Mocktails / Alcoholic Beverage, etc.)

  • Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management would be highly regarded.

  • Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and Micros

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Smart in appearance and well groomed
  • Multiple language ability, an advantage
  • To possess excellent communication skills both written & verbal

  • Excellent customer service skills and creative flair.

  • Worked in a High Operation with high turnover
