Location

This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland.  The resort comprises 295 guest rooms, suites and boutique self contained villas.

 

Department

The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrician to work within the Engineering Department. The position reports to the Chief Engineer. 

 

 


 

 

Main Responsibilities

 

Attend to repairs and maintenance of all systems and related equipment including but not limited to sub station, emergency generating unit, electrical control systems, lighting and dimmer racks, electrical switchboards, computer network cabling, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, air conditioning plant and emergency systems.

 

Carry out regular inspections, meter readings and general/emergency repairs of plant and equipment as per the daily checklist and ensure that inspections required by Government authorities are conducted and documented.

 

Carry out general room repairs, preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as per computerised system.

 

Perform and assist with the Fire Protection Preventative Maintenance Program ensuring all items are inspected as per weekly schedule.

 

Review daily log book, rectify or follow up on all items left unsolved from any previous shifts in relation to mechanical systems, discuss the same with the Engineering managers/supervisors.

 

Monitor energy and water management systems to minimize wastage and costs using daily / weekly utility readings as a reference point.

 

Liaise and supervise Property Maintenance Electrical Contractors on site and ensure appropriate standards are met.

 

Ensure that electrical workshops have adequate stock and materials in Stores and that all workshops are kept in a clean and safe environment. Raise purchase orders as required.

 

Ensure all requests for maintenance are carried out within an acceptable time frame.

 


 

Requirements

 

To be successful in this position you will need to possess the following minimum requirements:

 

High school certificate or equivalent qualification

 

Tertiary Qualification – Electrician

 

24 months in a similar role

 

First Aid Certificate + Low Voltage Rescue certificate

 

Blue / White Card Construction Worker QLD

 

Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written along with excellent customer relations skills

 

Possess basic computer and keyboard skills.
