Job Description

The Stewarding Attendant will clean, transport, and store all pots and pans used in the food and beverage operation, clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots, and pans, and is responsible for proper sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas.


Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.  In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.


Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Marriott rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities.  Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

REQUIREMENTS

An exceptional candidate will have an energizing yet relaxing personality and:


-must speak, read, write and understand the primary languages in the workplace


-have good communication skills


-be able to stand and exert well-paced ability for up to four hours in length


-be able to lift up to 50 lbs.


-must be able to push carts up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis


- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.


- The worker is subject to noise.  There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.


-have finger dexterity to operate equipment


-High school or equivalent education


-maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance per Marriott standards


-be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays


-must have to be willing to receive a Washington State Food Handler’s Card
