Job Description :  

Shaner Hotel Group has an immediate opening for a Hotel Manager In Training  Rooms Division at the Buffalo Marriott HARBORCENTER, located in downtown Buffalo just off 190, sitting at Canalside entertainment district.

The Manager-in-Training (MIT) will have the opportunity to work in and learn operations in all areas of the Front Office and Housekeepings departments on a rotating basis, and to direct, implement, and maintain a strong service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff. The MIT position will require ability to work flexible shifts in a 24x7 business environment, including weekends and holidays, with ability to travel and relocate to accommodate future growth opportunities. The MIT will report to the Director of Rooms. We are seeking an energetic, service-oriented leader who can effectively direct, train, coach, motivate, engage and provide feedback to the staff, supervisors and managers on a daily basis in accordance with the standards of Marriott and Shaner Hotels.

Ideal candidates will be recent hospitality/ restaurant management graduate looking to get their first supervisory/ management opportunity or a possible first time supervisor that's looking to get into a company with growth opportunities and training.

  • Must have a 4-year Degree
  • Hospitality industry experience
  • Leadership potential, eagerness to learn
  • Must be willing to relocate
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
