Location

Become an integral part of the Finance team for Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast. Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and sparkling blue lagoons, comprises of approximately 300 guest rooms, four award winning restaurants and bars, and a luxurious spa retreat, all in an absolute beachfront environment.


Department

Our Finance Department is a fast-paced environment that thrives on reaching targets and exceeding expectations. Working to strict timelines, the Finance team are responsible for the hotel’s day to day accounting function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, payroll and end of month reporting.  The Finance team also ensure full compliance with accounting standards and Marriott International Standard Operating Procedures. 


Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team. This is an opportunity for an individual who has the drive and ambition to pursue a career developed in all areas of a Hotel Finance Team with opportunity to reach their potential.  Main responsibilities and tasks for the role include:

  • Income audit – review and reconcile revenue and costs on daily basis to ensure audit compliance.

  • Payroll management – preparation of daily / weekly and monthly payroll productivity reports including management of the weekly labour management & forecast meeting.

  • Work closely with Assistant Director of Finance to manage the hotel’s day-to-day accounting function.

  • Assist the Assistant Director of Finance with the month end process.

  • Assist with the preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations at month end with detailed analysis and supporting documents.  

  • Work with other department managers to ensure accuracy in reporting and financial application.

  • Any other task as requested by the Assistant Director of Finance or Cluster Director of Finance.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate would be energetic, friendly, organized and enjoy working in a team environment. You must possess the drive to continuously improve process and continuously seek personal development and embrace the opportunity to learn.

Ideally you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting or related major.

  • CPA (or currently studying towards) will be an advantage.

  • Previous work experience in a similar hotel accounting role highly regarded.

  • Knowledge of Opera PMS, Micros POS and accounting system experience, Peoplesoft will be an advantage.

  • Ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to be a great team player who contributes to the success of Finance department
