About The Role:
Our ideal candidate will possess proactive sales and customer service skills as well as strong attention to detail to ensure all customer needs are understood and communicated effectively. You will also have experience in supervising a team and therefore possess the skills required to develop into a competent leader.
Day to Day responsibilities include connecting with new customers, issuing quotations and negotiating contracts and execution of events-both your own and from the sales & events team.
Source new business opportunities through telephone prospecting, Manage an existing client portfolio, Execute events.
Source, propose, negotiate and convert leads
Achieve revenue targets and KPI's
Conduct site inspections and dining/menu tastings
Execute events; both event only and those with accompanying accommodation, including oversee logistics, rundown briefings and completion of the internal event order
Collaborate with Banquet operations and Kitchen teams
Build beneficial relationships with customers
Support the Director of Catering in managing the team's output to drive revenue performance
Prepare forecasts and daily/weekly reporting and oversee the sales & catering system
Participate and present from time to time in management meetings
Please note, this position is Monday to Friday however will be required to be on-site afterhours from time to time to oversee important customer events
Minimum 2 years catering/event or sales experience in hotel or hospitality industry
Business acumen, initiative, conscientious, outgoing, impeccable presentation, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative, able to work with purpose, professional writing skills
