About the Role:
The Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager assists in the overall food & beverage service operation of the hotel’s dining and bar spaces, providing strong direction and motivation to the team. The Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager is the “face of Aloft”, dedicated to provide the very best of the Aloft vibe and feel in every guest interaction. Service standards come naturally to this person and they are able to make standard interactions special and memorable for the guests, every day, every time.
This person has influence and accountability for the cost structure, productivity, quality standards, Aloft culture, guest experience and Talent engagement of the department. The Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager has detailed knowledge of all aspects of food & beverage operations and a good knowledge of bar operations. More than that, this person is committed to guest satisfaction and providing an Aloft-style experience every time. This person “owns” the guest experience from the moment the guest enters the restaurant/bar to the moment they leave. This manager has an eye for detail and never fails to strive for perfection, engaging their team with a winning spirit and taking them along on the journey to deliver an on-brand experience, always.
Skills & Experience:
Your skills and experience will include:
· At least 4 years in Food & Beverage operations in a 4 or 5-star hospitality environment (of which at least 2 year is at a supervisorial level).
· Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and high end service levels.
· Have good English communication skills both in written and spoken
· Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
· Competent with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and software packages
· Competent with OPERA Software or similar
· Competent with MICROS Software or similar
· Hold an approved manager certificate and current WA RSA – desirable
· Hold a first aid certificate – desirable
· Organised with strong planning, good communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work under pressure with a ‘Can Do’ attitude and a high level of energy
Essentially you will be a confident self-starter and enjoy working within a senior team, possess a proactive approach and demonstrate integrity and care for your team and the business. This is not a role for the light-hearted – you must be prepared to dedicate yourself to the development of the concept and be able to give it your all to ensure its success
