To be an ambassador for the hotel and an extension of public relations within the hotel. Directly supervises the daily operation of the Concierge/Bell Desk to ensure the efficient handling of all guest luggage, supervision of Porters, and the efficient operation of the designated hotel car park(s).




  • Arrive at work on time in the correct attire, conforming with the Brisbane Marriott Hotel grooming LSOP.
  • Obtain a solid knowledge of the hotel product, including room types, rates, food and beverage outlets and other hotel features and guest facilities.
  • Support and abide with the Brisbane Marriott Hotel LSOP’s pertaining to Anti–Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Equal Employment Opportunity and Guarantee of Fair Treatment.
  • Perform all duties to satisfy the Marriott “Business Ethics” value system of integrity, fairness, respect, honesty and trust.
  • Be aware of all environmental practices, policies and procedures and implement these on a daily basis.
  • Be aware and adhere to all Brisbane Marriott Hotel Work Health and Safety and Security policies and procedures.
  • Perform any reasonable task as requested by management.



  • Maintain updated information of policies and procedures and ensure employees are well trained in those points.
  • Be aware of expected arrivals and departures each day, including VIPs, Groups and any Crew movements.
  • Maintain a Log Book, recording all relevant information and ensure all Concierge associates are aware of the day’s events.
  • Handle any guest enquiries efficiently and courteously to the standard expected from the hotel.
  • Ensure that a Bell Person is always available to assist guests arriving or departing the hotel with their luggage.
  • Responsible for the safe handling and storage of al guest luggage.
  • Ensure that all group luggage is correctly tagged and delivered to/from the rooms correctly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that all Bell Persons adhere to the hotel’s grooming standards.
  • Deal with any correspondence relating to in-house guests, eg. Messages, facsimiles, etc.
  • Be fully conversant with all aspects of Brisbane and its services, specifically tourist attractions, restaurants, theatre and shopping.
  • Action all reasonable requests from guests for services outside the hotel, eg. Confirming airline reservations, reserving tours, restaurants, theatre tickets, etc.
  • Ensure the designated Car Park(s) are running efficiently and that guest cars are parked safely and without damage, handled correctly and that all car keys are kept secure.
  • Liaise with other departments throughout the hotel in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Obtain feedback from associates and ensure follow up when necessary.
  • Ensure the Concierge/Bell Desk is adequately stocked with stationery and all other requirements, eg maps, tourist information, etc.
  • The Hotel requires that you follow established Workplace Health and Safety rules and regulations and demonstrate duty of care to all of our associates.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by Senior Management.
