JOB SUMMARY

 

The Boat Crew assists the Boat Captain and Senior Boat Captain to operate, drive and navigate passenger boats according to regulations. He/She instructs guests on boating safety and use of life jackets and monitors weather conditions. Within the role, the Boat Crew cleans and performs minor maintenance on boats. In case of emergency, the Boat Crew can provide assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services.

 

The Boat Crew reports accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager; completes safety training and certifications. He/She follows company policies and procedures; ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintains confidentiality of proprietary information and protects company assets. He/She possess expert knowledge of local ecosystem and anticipates and addresses guests’ service needs. While speaking with others the Boat Crew uses clear and professional language; prepares and reviews written documents accurately and completely and answers telephones using appropriate etiquette. The Boat Crew develops and maintains positive working relationships with others. He/She complies with quality assurance expectations and standards. He/She is able to read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print) and visually inspects tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). He/She stands, sits, or walks for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. He/She also moves, lifts, carries, pushes, pulls and places objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance. The role grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. He/She moves through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, moves over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down ladders, stairs and/or service ramps. Furthermore, he/she reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The Boat Crew performs other reasonable job duties as requested.
