Prepare, implement and compile data for strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.

Develop banquet menus pricing and revenue minimums using current competitive data.

Actively participate in catering sales site inspection, property tours and customer meetings

Participate in daily business review meeting, GRC meetings and Service Culture meetings.

Assist in the development of year Business Plan for the hotel and then cascade this into a specific and measurable plan by segment and work with the DOSM to implement for the Catering team to execute.

Manage and drive business for the key account base of the hotel, maximizing revenue opportunities and exceeding the set targets.

Assist in maintaining a strong team performance, by regularly reviewing catering goals against performance and realigning strategies according to results.

Ensure all team members are fully versed on all aspects of the Starwood Programs including SPG Pro and TeamHOT and ensure all KPI’s are met and assists with building loyalty and encouraging repeat business.

Co-operate with all departments within the hotel.

Co-ordination of all aspects of the departments operation to ensure that the services of the Department are delivered to guests or internal customers with the aim of exceeding guest expectations and in accordance with Hotel’s standards.

Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skill.

Ensure associates use the Meeting Planner Satisfaction Index (MPSI) surveys in a constructive manner to implement changes and reward performance where appropriate.

Verify timesheets.  Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports as required. Analyze reports and make recommendations.

Ensure all correspondence is written in the brand voice

Involve in Departmental training on all Sales and Marketing related issues.  Schedule catering associates to attend the relevant Starwood Sales training and Forum sales courses.

Ensure all catering associates have conducted the Starwood Online trainings, accessible on the development center on Starwood One.

Ensure all associates adhere to the Hotel credit policy and procedures

Conduct the weekly communication meeting with BQT team, to avoid the communication breakdown in between.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the management of all aspects of the Catering department in accordance with company and brand standards. Coordinates details and menus for clients' functions and maintains budgeted revenues through solicitation of business. Monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection. Ensures the highest level of service by training and developing staff and executing the requirements of events based on standards.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in the event management or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year experience in the event management or related professional area.

• Manages the quality process in areas of customer service and employee satisfaction.

Supporting and Coordinating with the Sales and Marketing Function

• Qualifies business and tracks leads.

• Solicits and books meetings, conferences and catered corporate and social events.

• Finalizes and upsells catering arrangements for group/convention business.

• Negotiates and markets to drive sales and create profits.

• Identifies customer needs and all sales opportunities which ensure successful catering events.
