Shaner is now seeking a Chief Engineer to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott located in Shippensburg, PA. Our hotel offers 110 rooms and suites, more than 1,200 square feet of event space, a fitness center, indoor pool and The Bistro, an on-site restaurant serving healthy breakfast and dinner options as well as Starbucks® coffee and evening cocktails. These amenities are made better by our location, which is right next to the Conference Center at Shippensburg University and minutes from the Luhrs Center and Seth Grove Stadium.
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the engineering department to include the proper operation, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of all heating ventilation, refrigeration and mechanical equipment. The selected candidate must develop, coordinate and monitor a maintenance program to ensure safety, security and comfort to all staff and guests. Tasks also include supervision, training and managing of all engineering and security staff in accordance with the standards of Marriott and Shaner Hotels.
- 2+ years of experience in a large facility; hotel experience and/or Marriott-brand experience a plus.
- Knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the building; proper chemical handling & disposal.
- Ability to provide excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
