Job Description


Shaner has an immediate opportunity for an Assistant General Manager to join our team at the Jacksonville Beach Courtyard by Marriott Oceanfront (150 rooms) located in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.


The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for the successful operation and administration of all departments.  However, a concentrated effort in the Food and Beverage area which includes, but not limited to banquet operations, restaurant and bar will be expected.  The ideal candidate will have a combination of education, and training/experience that provides the required skills such as hiring and leading staff, writing schedules, assisting with payroll/accounting and handling employee relations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years hospitality experience and a college degree, or equivalent. This position requires the ability to assist in the balancing of departments while focusing on providing an exceptional experience to every guest and maximizing profitability at the same time.  We are seeking an energetic, service-oriented leader who can effectively direct, train, coach, motivate, engage and provide feedback to the staff, supervisors and managers on a daily basis in accordance with the standards of Marriott and Shaner Hotels.


Job Requirements:

  • College Degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of  experience in a similar position, Marriott brand experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage Operations
  • Exceptional communication and guest service skills
  • Knowledge of Marriott FOSSE, MARSHA and HPP systems is a plus
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
