Position Purpose:
 
Responsible for all activities and matters that effect the preparation & service of food & beverage products. To manager the bar by providing leadership, overall supervision and control in order to provide a high degree of guest satisfaction while operating the established standards and the established budget for revenue, costs and other goals.
 
Essential Functions:
 
  • Knowledge of all food & beverage procedures, standards, quality presentation, service and products and local health & sanitation standards.
  • Communicates daily with F&B management
  • Responds appropriately to guest needs during hours of operation
  • Ensure that internal customers are communicated with on a daily basis
  • Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards
  • Assess quality control and adhere to service standards
  • Support the control of food & beverage cost
  • Carry out close liaison with all sections of the kitchen in order to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Ability to produce own work in accordance with a deadline and to assist and encourage others in achieving this aim
  • To project a pleasant and positive professional image to all contacts at all times
  • Display financial acumen and business sense.
    Supportive Functions (Property specific):
     
    Maintain cooperative relations with other F&B management, outlets, Executive Chef, Assistant F&B manager, Department Heads, Chief Steward, Deputy General Manager.
      
    Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Property specific):


    Communicates guest feedback to the management in order to create ideas and improvements within the outlet.
  • Assures the minimization of all costs in the outlet by supervising the use of the internal procedures in store requisitions, equipment handling, the correct usage of the hotel assets and purchasing.
  • Assist in the timely hiring of associates and coordinate transfers, as well as enforcing all disciplinary procedures for the outlet. 
  • Enforce and practice regular training for all associates in accordance with the Starwood guidelines.
  • Ensure that all sanitation and hygiene standards are constantly maintained.
  • Achieve financial goals and objectives through employing innovative techniques, public relations and effective marketing.
