The Manager for Premium Brands is responsible for supporting the senior manager premium brands for Marriott Hotels (MH) and Sheraton Hotels (SH) for pull-through of strategy for MH and SH brand initiatives and brand marketing programs for the European portfolio of MH and SH brands. This position partners with the respective global brand teams and operations to ensure on-brand execution in the hotels. The role will support the senior manager , Premium brands in managing the brand marketing fund expenditure in Europe in partnership with the respective global brand marketing teams to localize the expression of the brands through effective media planning and creative development for communications and advertising, communications into the key European source markets.
This position needs to collaborate closely with the Area Directors of Marketing, the digital, loyalty and communications teams to develop effective continent and country level marketing programs that drive brand awareness, preference, market share and top line performance for the MH and SH brands in Europe. These two brands are currently going through a major transformation and the manager will be a critical role in supporting the hotels in market.
Responsible for supporting on the management and marketing of the following brands as determined by the Senior manager and Director:
Marriott and Sheraton
Responsible for the execution of the brand marketing budgets for the brands they support
Brand Strategy & Planning
Educates/communicates on brand strategy, positioning, voice, strategic pillars and competitive environment
Educates/communicates consumer insights
Acts as an advocate of the MH and SH brands in continent
Supporting hotels in market with brand pull through
Brand Performance & Development
Pulls through global brand strategies while ensuring alignment to Europe and market specific objectives
Responsible for the effective pull-through and localization of new brand initiatives in Europe
Constantly monitor brand performance and develop appropriate actions with the relevant cross function teams to achieve the brand and continent objectives
Operations & Culture
Responsible for regular brand communication with the field and hotels
Works closely with properties and (Continent Operations) CLS organization to ensure on-brand implementation of brand operating standards, procedures, and brand operations-driven programs
Provides opening brand support for select new hotels
Style & Design
Supports as appropriate to ensure brand strategy is executed in design for new builds, conversions and renovations projects
Marketing & PR
Responsible for executing customer-facing brand communications, brand voice/collateral development, photography, etc. and ensuring those materials are on-brand
Partners with the Continent Communications team and Area Directors of Marketing teams to develop and execute buzz marketing for the MH and SH brands
Responsible for developing/nurturing/activating brand partnerships that provide brand equity benefits and enhance the guest experience
Partners with the Continent Sales Teams as appropriate to ensure a coordinated Sales approach for Marriott and Sheraton brands
Provide relevant and up-to-date brand information and education to ensure effective sales strategies and customer interaction
Growth & Development
Provides Development with tools as needed to support them in immersing prospective new owners into the brand, its strategies and positioning.
Works with Development Marketing team to produce toolkits and resources to support development in securing on-strategy projects for the brand.
Key talents and experience desired
Lodging industry experience is strongly preferred
Prior brand management experience preferred but not essential
2-3 years prior experience developing integrated brand marketing campaigns across channels (digital, social, buzz, PR, sales) is required
Experience partnering with Field on communications and marketing is strongly preferred
Strong team player and ability to foster relationships and collaborate across disciplines
University degree preferred or qualifications in related field preferred but not essential.
