JOB SUMMARY

 

The job incumbent is responsible for supporting the company and its business units with the execution of its EE,WSP and BBBEE interventions to ensure compliance with legislative requirements whilst aligning to business strategy.  Performs, supports and audits these interventions by conducting work that is generally administrative in nature and at times project oriented.  Develops alternatives and determines solutions, including those that may be unique and non-recurring to guide the business towards its goals.  Handles confidential, sensitive and proprietary information.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in Human Resources or EE/B-BBEE compliance related fields;
  • Experience/previous work knowledge in EE/B-BBEE Verification, Consulting, Auditing and/or Tansformation related fields advantageous; and
  • Experience/previous work knowledge of the Hospitality or Tourism industry advantageous.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES


Overview and administrative responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the direction, implementation and control of the B-BBEE ,EE and WSP portfolios.

  • Researches and develops B-BBEE ,EE and WSP strategies and becomes the champion, providing guidance and direction.

  • Reviews current, develops new and implements policies in line with B-BBEE ,EE and WSP strategies.

  • Establishes guidelines to designated employees responsible for B-BBEE ,EE and WSP activities.

  • Gathers data from multiple sources, analyzes information as appropriate and identify areas of improvement.

  • Processes data and performs data entry into automated administrative software systems and develops spreadsheets as necessary.

  • Arranges and facilitates workshops, training sessions, webinars and individual calls as necessary to clearly communicate B-BBEE,WSP and EE policies, initiatives, changes and emerging best practices.

  • Deals with queries with regards to B-BBEE ,EE and WSP, both routine and those requiring research and follow-up. 

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Ensure that all administration duties are conducted accurately and on-time.

  • Frequent monitoring and clear reporting.

  • Presents information to stakeholder groups.

  

Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE)

  • Lead the company B-BBEE Committee.

  • Develops the B-BBEE strategy, in conjunction with Committee, in line with the codes of good practice.

  • Co-ordinates and helps implement the B-BBEE strategy.

  • Has a good technical understanding of each of B-BBEE Scorecard pillar, including targets and measurement criteria.

  • Monitor deliverables against the B-BBEE Scorecard targets set out in the strategy on a monthly basis and reports back to the Committee.

  • Conducts scenario planning to identify opportunities for each pillar for overall scorecard improvement.

  • Ensures that the company obains B-BBEE certification on an annual basis.

  • Co-ordinates the annual B-BBEE audit on an annual basis.

  • Sources and appoints a SANAS accredited verification agency.

  • Compiles the audit file for the verification agency.

  • Arranges site visits where applicable.

  • Liaises with the verification agency to address any challenges.

  • Follows up with the verification agency to obtain the certificate and distribute the certificate to stakeholder groups.


Employment Equity (EE) workplace skills plans (WSP) 

  • Consulting with employees and conducting analysis.

  • Establishment and monitoring of EE and WSP committees.

  • Development, facilitation and implementation of EE and WSP plans in conjunction with EE committees in line with the Act.

  • Monitoring of EE and WSP plans and identification of non-compliance.
