Manages the research efforts for South Asia in relation to MICE research from associations and intermediaries, pre-opening research for new hotels and research on impactful MICE events for each city Marriott has a hotel. Acts as primary contact for and maintains productive relationships with all stakeholders, including hotel General Managers, sales leaders, sales associates and area team. Advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
Education and Experience
2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 8 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 8 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Builds a database of potential MICE customers from associations and intermediaries not deployed to proactive sales teams in India
Proactively reaches out to these customers to identify MICE opportunities for the portfolio of hotels in South Asia
Generate leads and forward to qualified hotels for closure
Support the hotels in conversion of leads
Focus on repeat business from associations which are high value and booked with a relatively long lead time
Contribute to building the MICE strategy for the country and support hotels with best practices to convert/service business from associations
Pre-opening Research for New Hotels
Work with the leadership of a new hotel to provide a pre-opening docket that contains information that forms a part of the hotel’s PDP
Provide a distillation of that docket to cross-sell teams across the country to support quicker ramp-up for new hotels
Support the hotel with data that forms part of the hotel collateral for property/cross-sell teams
Works with other members of the Sales Strategy + Support team on timelines and process to onboard hotels into the India Sales Organization
City Event Trackers
Build city event trackers to provide hotel sales leaders and associates with visibility on events in the city that could potentially impact demand for the entire city/their specific hotels
Identify and share factors that help sales associates qualify the business for their hotel including but not limited to factors such as price point, venue, location, accounts, contracting location etc.
Based on the needs of the organization and based on a work intake process approved by the Director, Sales Strategy + Support work on additional projects that drive the focus areas of the region/continent
