§ Capture and review change requests from internal disciplines and determine steps needed to update design guidelines
§ Review drawings and other submittals from design consultants, manufacturers, and project teams
§ Mark-up drawing and distribute to other internal disciplines and design consultants
§ Communicate and coordinate with internal disciplines to ensure the integration of relevant input into design guidelines
§ Compile all internal disciplines comments for issuance of change bulletin
§ Coordinate review/approval (with participation from appropriate disciplines) of change requests
§ Provide information, interpretation, and guidance to design consultants, as well as internal design staff, for adapting brand standards to specific design guidelines
§ Assist in negotiation and implementation of design changes and track changes in database.
§ Maintain up-to-date change bulletin data in change management tool
§ Assist other team members in the maintenance and development of design guidelines documentation.
§ Maintain clear communication with all department management levels and advise/consult on sensitive design guideline issues.
§ Represent Marriott well and promote and foster positive and mutually beneficial relationships with other internal disciplines
§ Provide conceptual design studies, sketch plans, and criteria/facilities programs for
§ Apply design talent to problem solving design exercises to achieve cost efficient results that align with the brand standards and the brand strategy.
§ Take initiative to avoid problems and anticipate the needs of team members. When problems occur, utilize positive conflict resolution techniques to solve them. Bring relevant issues to immediate attention of Senior Management for resolution.
§ Participate in applying lessons learned from prior projects to current/future projects.
§ Prepare recommendations for design changes and implementation to address customer satisfaction data, operational concerns, brand initiatives, and development strategies.
§ Assist in value engineering proposals and subsequent design guideline revisions.
§ Manage time allocation on change bulletin tasks in accordance with specific change bulletin deadlines and/or direction established by Senior Management.
§ Reports to other Managers for policy guidance, methods, and systems support matters. Supports other Managers in monitoring, reviewing, and expediting drawing submittals.

§ 4-year degree in Architecture, or related design discipline from an accredited college or university.
§ A minimum of 4 years of additional progressive experience in architectural design at a design firm for large commercial or hospitality projects.
§ A minimum of 4 years of experience in the preparation and coordination of architectural construction documents and coordination of consultants.
