The European Convention Network Sales Executive will report to the Head of the European Convention Network.
The European Convention Network Sales Executive provides dedicated proactive and reactive sales support to the Head of the European Convention Network to meet and exceed the expectations of both the internal and external customers, ensuring customer inquiries are handled in the fastest and most efficient manner.
The European Convention Network (ECN) is funded by its member hotels in Europe and represents the extended sales force of these hotels. The focus is on non-managed group accounts which have requirements for rotating events that take place on a regular basis (annual / biennial) of at least 150 rooms / participants on peak nights.
The European Convention Network Sales Executive provides support to the ECN.
  • Location requirements:  The European Convention Network Sales Executive is to be located in Barcelona, Spain.
  • Travel Requirements:  There is occasional (20 %) business travel
  • Language Requirements: Fluent in English and at least one other European language (speaking, reading and writing) required.

Managing Sales Activities:
  • Proactively prospects, qualifies and solicits new accounts
  • Processes all group inquiries to the hotels and ensures alternatives are offered in order to close business (focusing on all funding hotels in the ECN but also for other Marriott hotels worldwide)
  • Handles all requests for information from clients according to the company guidelines
  • Provides administrative support to the Head of the ECN
  • Maintains database updated for all systems
  • Is fully conversant with the technical equipment provided and to follow all procedures. This includes– but is not limited to – SFA
  • Prepares and analyzes reports and statistics
  • Assists in the coordination of and participates in special events / business travel when appropriate

Building Successful Relationships:
  • Supports primarily the ECN in its duties to the funding hotels
  • Develops and maintains good relationships to both internal and external customers by providing a friendly and efficient service, meeting and exceeding the expectations of the ECN clients
  • Is knowledgeable of the hotels in the ECN, their facilities and competition
  • Is fully conversant with all Marriott brands and products

  • Takes ownership of Marriott’s Sales Organization’s Mission, Marriott’s Loyalty Basics and the Marriott’s Sales Basics
  • Keeps up to date with all legislation changes and trends within the Agency, Association and Corporate market
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs as well as to ensure teamwork
  • Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures.

  • First experience in the hospitality industry and group sales / reservation process desirable

Education and Professional Certification:
  • Degree in hospitality management, business management or a related field
