Job Summary
Support and coordinate activities for CALA PR, including drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, compiling media materials, managing media requests and supporting PR event organization. This position reports to the Director, PR and Social Media and partners with the Area PR Directors and Account Management Organization in the region to oversee that properties across CALA are in alignment with regional initiatives. The Coordinator is an integral hub for the wider PR team, liaising with stakeholders in Bethesda and in market, coordinating PR reporting, facilitating source market media stays, and integrating CALA success stories.


Public Relations
Develop media materials, including press releases, fact sheets, talking points and executive speeches
Proof media materials sent by properties, brands and other stakeholders
Manage and maintain CALA Talking Point library
Hub for CALA information requests by various stakeholders, such as Americas PR, properties and global Brands
Refer media requests to the an appropriate spokesperson or information source; coordinate interviews
Support execution of PR activations
Collect monthly monitoring reports from markets and forward to PR agency for inclusion in CALA PR report
Manage and pull reports from Trendkite, as needed
Distribute weekly PR coverage report to internal stakeholders
Manage Marriott Spanish News Center site and image library
Support strategy development; identify and propose story angles to promote CALA; research

Department Support  
Review, process invoices with Director approval; keep detailed invoicing log; monitor department travel budget
Create presentations for executives
Create and manage PR work-in-progress calendar; upload to internal tools (eg Americas Marketing calendar
Manage PR Box file sharing
Support Director with flight bookings, expense reports, as needed

Computer Skills
Use computer systems and software packages to input, access, modify, store, or output information 
Enter and retrieve data from computer systems using a keyboard, mouse or trackball.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
