The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications, Greater China is the marketing leader for a specific source market, with the core role of promoting Marriott International, all relevant brands and loyalty programs within that source market.  In addition, the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications will be the “voice of Marriott" of his/her source market to the priority destination markets.  A secondary role is in leading Field Marketing and Communications team as well as providing direction for the China Brand teams.
The role will report to Vice President, Sales & Marketing Greater China to ensure full alignment across brand, marketing & communications to support Performance & drive consumers’ Preferences.  The role also works closely with the Area Director, Sales and Distribution, Area Vice President in Greater China as well as the leaders of Brand Marketing and Loyalty for specific area/field strategy and execution.
  • 40% to 50% of time is spent travelling.
    Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • University degree preferred.
  • 8 – 10 years progressive work experience in the hotel industry is preferred with focus on Sales & Marketing is required
  • Knowledge and experience in developing strategic marketing plans, brand communications, public relations, partnership marketing, online ,  brand marketing, financial planning and budgeting is required

Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement successful marketing strategies.

  • Demonstrated clear ability to understand and apply Marketing and PR concepts.
  • Possesses an understanding of brand strategies and cultures.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with the ability to lead and develop a team
  • Excellent verbal, writing, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Able to influence results in a matrix environment.
  • Knowledge and management of marketing budgets
  • Possesses an understanding of revenue management functions and account profitability.
  • Ability to diagnose reports and analyze data
  • Possess good time management and ability to multi-task
  • Familiar with content management systems is an added advantage
