Based in the Remote Solutions team in Shanghai, you will be part of the team to support a portfolio of hotels in China with revenue management and strategies.
The Director of Revenue Management, Remote Solutions will oversee revenue management activities and staff in a given portfolio. You will be responsible for balancing the financial objectives of different lodging products to maximize total revenues, and accountable for pricing, positioning and inventory of all hotels within the market. The role will oversee all processes associated with demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting and opportunity analysis, and develop and recommend sales strategy for pricing of the transient customer. The incumbent will act as primary contact and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders, including hotel General Managers, sales leaders, franchisees, owners and regional team.
  • Provide revenue management functional expertise and leadership to general managers, property leadership teams and market sales leaders
  • Provide critical input to market leaders for development of property and overall market sales strategy
  • Ensure hotel strategies conform to brand philosophies and initiatives
  • Conduct sales strategy analysis and refine as appropriate to increase revenue and market share for all properties
  • Ensure that sales strategies and rate restrictions are communicated, implemented and modified as market conditions fluctuate
  • Develop strategic action plans for management of transient revenues
  • Assist hotels with pricing and provide input on business evaluation recommendations
  • Provide recommendations to properties for Business Transient Sales account strategies
  • Work with Market VP, Market GM and GM’s to assist in pricing analyses for all products in the market
  • Assist with account diagnostics process and validate conclusions
  • Ensure property diagnostic processes (PDP) are used to maximize revenue and profits
  • Initiate, implement and evaluate revenue tests
  • Provide recommendations to improve effectiveness of revenue management processes
  • Communicate market direction to revenue management, sales and hotel leaders

  • Bachelor degree in Business or related discipline
  • Proficient in English and Chinese (spoken Mandarin)
  • At least 8 years of experience in hotel reservations / revenue management
  • Excellent knowledge of revenue management concepts, tactics, and processes
  • Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet software, database management, and analytical tools
  • Knowledge of operations research principles and concepts
  • Strong deductive reasoning and analytical skills
  • Detail-minded, able to multi-task
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Marriott’s revenue management systems and inventory management systems is preferred
