This role is responsible for providing quality opening support, documentation, and training for the Revenue Management team for a new build or conversion property.  The role is primarily responsible for Starwood properties in China; however, could be extended to other properties in the APEC division. The position will require knowledge of Galaxy/Opera and Valhalla Portal to ensure new properties are loaded into the Rate Generator Tool as well as Valhalla Portal (RAD Lite process) to enable a property to successfully sell in our Channels in the timelines agreed upon.  In addition the position will be responsible for ensuring a successful conversion to IPS (RAD process). 


The role will require training of Valhalla Portal/Opera/Galaxy systems, preparation of training materials, and interaction with the properties Revenue Managers/DORMs to ensure that each hotel has a successful conversion.


This position will require interaction with technology, Corporate business users, new and existing hotels, NBT and Revenue Management teams.




•Conversion of New Properties


•Actively coordinate and conduct new property conversions through the RAD Lite and RAD process, taking ownership of pre-work with completing a detailed workbook, remote training, and follow up.

•Business support during the RAD Lite and RAD conversions working closely with the IT Conversion team and the property/NBT team

•Reporting technical issues to the business and technical teams, troubleshooting technical and procedural issues, working closely with IT to resolve issues, and ensure a smooth transition for each hotel moving through the conversion process.

•Ensure seamless hand off to the Revenue Management teams for support for the property Revenue Manager

•Attend Regular meetings to discuss the New builds/conversions property timelines and to ensure continuous collaboration with IT

•Ensure Global processes and standardization



Training and Training Materials


•Responsible for training of Valhalla Portal functions with a focus on Rates, Inventory, Availability and Statusing.  Contribute to the development of effective training materials for all new builds and transition hotels integrating any new enhancements to the systems that impact the training. Work closely with Global Revenue Management Team and the divisional RM Leadership group to ensure that Starwood Revenue Management standards and procedures are properly implemented.

•Participate in rollout of Starwood Global projects when expertise is needed.

•Strong track record working in hotel/complex Revenue Management position

•Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word.  Experience with the following hotel systems a plus (Galaxy, Opera).






College Degree required.



Three years in hotel reservations or front office operations is required with a minimum of 12 months of Revenue Management or related discipline experience

Experience with New Openings preferred

Minimum two years Training experience

Job Summary
     Assist in the management of rooms inventory to maximize cluster rooms revenue as well as maintain accurate reservation system information. Assist in the preparation of the agenda and other supporting documents for sales strategy meetings. Assist in managing room authorizations, rates, and restrictions, including communicating with rate restrictions and strategy to properties. Assist with account diagnostics and monitoring transient and group inventory to ensure straight-line availability. Assist in the implementation of hotel sales strategies in the reservation and inventory systems. Escalate technical questions relating to the reservations and property management systems to the correct support desk in a timely manner. Monitor the compliance with and participation in Company promotions and eCommerce channels.
     Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
